Treating Sexual Addiction & Betrayal Trauma

Resources to support your clients

With more than 30 years specializing in sexual addiction treatment and helping partners heal from betrayal trauma, I have created this page to support practitioners working with individuals, couples, and partners impacted by sex addiction and porn addiction.

When sexual addiction is discovered, both members of the couple need support, understanding, and compassionate care. The person struggling with compulsive sexual behavior needs a path toward recovery. The partner needs help making sense of the betrayal, the trauma response, and the profound emotional impact that can follow discovery.

My hope is that these resources will help you hold both sides of the story with clarity and compassion.

Here you will find articles, podcast episodes, books, and professional resources designed to deepen your understanding of how sexual addiction and porn addiction can present in clinical practice. These resources explore the relational impact, the trauma response, the patterns beneath the behavior, and the healing work needed to move forward.

Sex addiction is not simply about behavior. It often sits within a deeper pattern of secrecy, shame, attachment wounds, intimacy struggles, and relational disconnection. For couples, this work requires careful support for both the individual seeking recovery and the partner who is trying to understand what has happened and what comes next.

These resources are here to help you strengthen your practice, support your clients with confidence, and offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space for healing, growth, and possible relational repair.
